Scott Bakula (who would go on to star in Star Trek: Enterprise) played the role of Sam Beckett, a scientist who finds himself “leaping” into the bodies of different people during different time periods. This made for some interesting situations, because not only did Becket have to solve some sort of problem, but he also had to deal with the personal life of the person that he “leapt” into.
I don’t know if I agree with all of these…and there are a few that I would have picked that were left out…hmmm…but…it’s hard to say that any of them don’t belong on this list…I guess…12 is just so limiting.

Quantum Leap #1? Really? Loved the show but can’t really agree with that.
firefly is #1, then star trek, Stargate SG-1, and the others are all good too.
I can’t put Firefly at the top (as good as it is) just because of the brevity of it. If they had another season or two, absolutely then.
My Top 3 from that list:
Star Trek
Stargate
X-Files
Ya know, I have never ever been able to get into Stargate. Even when it debuted on Showtime (and I was enjoying me some free premium cable channels at the time) I just wasn’t feeling it. A few years ago I would watch the last 5 or 10 minutes of it while waiting for Season 2 and 3 of BSG to air. Even then I got a poor man’s Trek feel from it.
Oh well, take 5 points off my geek license.
yeah it took me almost a full season to get into it and that season only took me about 3 weeks to watch…they used to have Stargate Monday’s on Scifi where they would run 3 or 4 episodes in a row.
I hate it when a top 12 countdown list starts with the #1 entry…
I agree with Firefly being high on the list.. Battlestar should be higher in my book though..
My top 5 would be:
5: Startrek
4: The Outer Limits
3: Firefly
2: Battlestar Galactica
1: Babylon 5
